Imagine floating in the sky on a space shuttle and looking down on earth. One might expect that looking down you could see all the wonderful things together man on earth, such as the Great Wall of China. While this is the case, there is also something that can be seen from space that human beings on this planet should not be proud of – the landfill in Staten Island, NY. Maybe after seeing the above would be to encourage citizens to recycle!
If people start to recycle There are many benefits for the planet, such as cleaner water for drinking and bathing, and healthier plants and animals. It is estimated that each year
over a million of marine mammals, turtles and seabirds die trash. Sometimes this includes threatened and endangered, and all could be avoided if people decided to recycle!
Those not familiar with the recycling program may be wondering what they can and can not be recycled! It can be recycled bottles and jars, aluminum, cardboard, paper bags, newspapers, metal cans, frozen food boxes, empty aerosol cans, and more. You can not recycle styrofoam containers, sneakers, containers of toxic chemicals, and ceramics.
Large items also can be recycled, such as scrap vehicles, siding, and window / door frames. Besides being able to recycle these items, because it is the environment, scrap yards are paying higher prices for aluminum, copper, brass and other metals such. Loading a truck with scrap metal for recycling in the local scrap yard could make a hefty profit, as well as help keep the planet a little cleaner!
While some cities, schools, and businesses already recycle regularly, always a great way to encourage those in their own local area for businesses. Petitions are a great way for lawmakers know that many local people interested in helping with this process. Can be encouraged not only to recycle the waste of that particular city or company, but also to help incorporate the use of recycled paper and other materials in their business methods. Cities and companies hear their citizens, employees, customers or the value of their efforts recycling are likely to begin to recycle on a daily basis.
Turning a lower level, beginning to help by recycling at home also is a great idea. Everything helps. Collect old newspapers, egg cartons, and magazines instead of throwing them out every week and donate them to schools for art projects. Clothing age, they can always be donated to local charities instead of creating more waste in landfills, as well as antique furniture. If the old clothes and blankets are not in good condition, local animal shelters are always in need of these items to clothes or bedding for pets. Remember, before contaminating soil more than it already is, there's one thing to do: recycle!
