Carbon credits. They are the latest innovation that is allowing those of us who can not escape to live in a world that is relentless with his environment a little more, well, sleeping well, perhaps, as we strive to give back what they receive. But it seems that many of us are not satisfied with the form of credits carbon being used. A recent Australian study showed that many consumers are unhappy with the use of carbon credits. Not only that, but many do not know exactly how the carbon credit schemes operate trading, probably leading to criticism about the success they truly are. Of those who do not know how work, the study showed that only 28% confident that the carbon trading schemes could make a difference.
The research published on 3 December 2009 and on survey responses from nearly 1,800 consumers in general and reveals that only one third of consumers are happy credits carbon gain and trade, to be offered to large producers such as carbon offsets. Over 50% of respondents are not happy for this to happen. Moreover, the notion of so-called solar energy multiplier, where "bonus credits" was created as an incentive to consumers without corresponding carbon reduction was flatly rejected and only 20% of consumers believe it is a good idea.
It seems that the concept of carbon credits has conducted a wide range of reactions and opinions in the community. Many people are asking for the ability to offer credit only to those organizations taking incentives sustained to reduce carbon emissions. Some believe that carbon trading is a fraud, others believe it is simply a ploy to "fleece" the public your money. Whatever your opinion, no one can deny that the concept could be said that most controversial of the Kyoto Protocol is certainly making some waves.
