I can not get my head round this and really need for my next test soon. Please, can someone I explain how to do it – you do not have to give me the answer. Electricity supplied from the national grid costs 8 pence per kilowatt hour.

What is the recovery time?
The family uses 4,000 kWh of electricity per year, so at 8 pence per kWh, the cost of electricity during one year is: 4000kWh/yr * 8p/kWh = 32000p = £ 320/yr If the costs of solar panels to £ 6400 to install (I’m confused by £ 6400 per kW, the installation a solar panel cost single payment), then we need to know how long it will take for the cost of solar panel to be covered by not having to pay for electricity.
We are paying £ 320 a year, so that £ 6,400 / £ 320/yr = 20 years which will take 20 years to offset the costs of electricity. Also consider how you used the correct units across the road, you can use the units to work how to calculate things like this:)
