If the service company offering "green power" at a premium, what extra percentage that you agree to pay on each invoice? This money will support solar, wind, hydrogen, tidal and geothermal power generation.
Not one dime, because the total cost of construction and plant operation (eg 50 years) means that the total cost factor kilowatt of energy in the same, whether generated by coal, gas, nuclear, solar, wind, hydrogen, generating tidal or geothermal. It's warm fuzzy feeling that the methods of art that makes us feel good about reducing global warming (for which I favor) and not pay more for the electricity itself.
